Which file contains the Registry in XP pro? I'm wondering I did an
export of the entire windows registry to a .reg and it was 122MB
so I did a search for a file greater then 10MB in my C:\windows
directory and couldn't find anything remotely resembling that size.
So I'm wondering which file(s) contain the registry in XP pro?

The Registry consists of different files. Machine settings are found
in files in the the C:\WINDOWS\system32\config folder. The User
specific settings are stored in C:\DOCUMENTS AND
SETTINGS\{username}\NTUSER.DAT.

Hi,

How did you save it? Which process did you use?

1. REG EXPORT
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Regedit
RegeditBkup.reg
2. Start/Run/Regedit, and then click Registry, Export Registry File. At the
bottom you will see a box that says "Export Range" click the All radio
button.

Either way, do a search for: *.*.reg or better yet, the name you saved it
as. Good luck!
