I used Partition Magic to change my 2-partition drive into a
3-partition drive.
Win2000 stayed in C. Both C & D are NTFS. CDROM is E. (No changes
made.)
I formatted F as Fat32. Win2000 still boots fine.

The physical order of the partitions, according to PM: F, C, D.

Using PM, I made F the active partition (with C & D hidden.)
Rebooted with the Win98SE setup CD.
98Setup "found" NT files: I told it to leave them alone.
Now, it's asking if it should put the Win98 files into C:\windows.

I think (hope!) Setup is referring to the FAT32 partition as C:
Before I hit that RETURN button can anybody tell me if this is ok or
is the Win98 trying to put stuff on the other partitions.

Thanks very much.

Probably is seeing it as the FAT32 Drive C. To be on the safe
side, assign volume names to all of the partitions.

I gave all 3 partitions names, but during Win98 setup, it only refers
to "C:" not a volume label.

.
it should not put win 98 files into C: because Win 2000 is
installed on that partition. when it asking where do you
want to put the win 98 files please type in the location
area like this f: and then it will install windows 98 on
f: partition.
