I have just ordered a PC with Vista Home Premium OS. Is there a website with
a list of application that will work? Or, if I attempted to install an app
that will not work, will Vista inform me so that I do not have a mess of
non-operative apps on the hard drive?
many thanks

Download the Vista Upgrade Advisor and run it on your current setup. Ignore
the hardware errors if any because they will be irrelevent to your new PC,
but look for any software alerts that may cause problems.
Have to note though that some applications may give an alert message, but
sometimes this may mean just a reinstallation or patch is necessary.
Are there any particular applications that you want to know about?

Bernard Liengme spewed out this bit, and i'll scatter a few bits myself:

FYI, caps don't prevent scanners from picking up your email. It's not case
sensitive unless that's a specific and non-standard handling your ISP built
into their own web servers. In any case, those sending spam will probably
lower-case it anyway. :)

the only app that works and for many people the only one that interests them
is
solitair...
