Decided to splash out on a decent 19" screen - but which one?
Not a gamer but would like a very good screen...cost no object (within
reason).
The ones I have in short list at the mo are:-
NEC 1970NX
Viewsonic VP 930
Iiyama Prolite
...any thoughts on those or any others appreciated.
Thanks.

I've had a 19" Samsung SyncMaster 930B for quite a while, and I
give it high marks.

Ditto here, I have had the same monitor for about 5 months now, and love it!

If cost is no object do you really want 19" instead of 20+"?

That extra inch gives you a lot more screen real-estate due
to the higher resolution and a better aspect ratio of 4:3 in
many cases. 19" might be best for gamers that don't have a
video card capable of driving the higher resolution at
acceptible framerates, though personally I would almost
prefer 1600x1200 than 1280x1024 and more FSAA.

Swapped out my Nokoa 21" CRT for a Viewsonic 19" VX924 back in January and
have no regrets.

Thats a popular one going for fairly cheap sometimes. I think if I
were buying a LCD I would have gone for the recent I think it was 20"
widescreen DELL deal. It was I think as low as $300 got lots of top
ratings on the net by reviewers but consumers found a banding problem.
Thats why you have to take the reviews with a grain of salt. A little
while ago they were pushing Samsung but have since been choosing DELL,
Viewsonic and other makes. The Dell got top marks from many consumers
and reviewers but theres a color banding problem that some found. DELL
supposedly has a fix for this. If they do --- thats a great deal on a
nice widescreen large monitor.

I think the sale is over though. You never know with DELL. They
constantly running some coupon that makes something super cheap one
week then the next its over.
