Where's the EULA?

I recently installed Ppt 2003 Upgrade, and I cannot find the End-User
License Agreement. Does anyone know where it might be?

Tried the entire CD, and the Office 10 folder. No luck. I saw it flash by
when I installed, agreeing to yet another legal doc without reading it, <g>
so it has to be somewhere.

Maybe the EULA had a clause similar to one in a British TV comedy show
(Are you being served) episode. One person had just finished signing
and initialing various clauses in a document. When done, he asks the
other person for a copy of the document. The other person responds,
"By signing here you agreed that you don't get a copy of the document."

Heh, you're gonna kick yourself, John O...

Help/About. Click the link to view the end user license agreement.

Now here's the kick part. ;-)
I opened Help, typed in EULA, let PPT do its search the web thing, got
one hit. "About Product Activation." The info on the EULA is down at the
bottom in the notes.

I'm kicking myself alright, but not for the reason you think. What I
installed was Ppt *2002*. Duh.

Then, Help won't work. It opens to a blank window. I tried reinstalling that
component, reinstall the whole thing, no joy. I can't get any help. <g>
Tushar is on to something...

FWIW Win 2k SP4. Office 2k Pro loaded, this upgrade is loaded in addition to
Ppt 2k.

Is it my ISP, or is the news server running a bit slow these last couple
days?

Arrrghh. I'm so conditioned to thinking of text on a dialog box as text,
not "live stuff that does stuff" that I never even SAW that as a link.
Yeah, yeah, it's blue, it's underlined; but it's in an app, not a browser
window. yeah, yeah, who can tell which is which nowadays, right right. ;-)

I don't get a blank window, but the net result is the same. Lots of text,
little help. <g>

Seriously (what, useless help isn't serious??) I've had all manner of
problems with help whenever multiple versions are installed.

msnews was down for a bit and is running very hard to catch up now.

So now you know it works for PowerPoint 2003, right? However, for the
PowerPoint 2003 Viewer, you must open the Viewer, open a presentation, right
click, click on help, and then click on the *button* that says "About the
PowerPoint Viewer" and finally click on the button that says, "View the End
User License and die", or something like that.

Wunnerful. I'm living in a Dilbert strip...the rules are Top Secret, and
don't you dare break them. :-)

Quoth the printed EULA Addendum (all I have): This Addendum.....is entered
into between you (either an individual person or a single legal entity, who
will be referred to in this Addendum as "You") and Microsoft.....

At least we got that straight.
I am me as you are he as you are we and we are all together

I realize this EULA stuff must be relevant to you and I apologize for
being facetious, but it is hard to resist...<vbg>

If only you had taken the time to read the EULA clause 12.99 subclause
z.100. "This agreement is between you who are you and about to become
one with us and us, Dilbert of the Borg. Once you are assimilated, the
gift of the EULA will be yours for time immemorial."

Go for it!

LOL, see, that's what I was afraid of.

I wonder what was wrong with putting it in a text file? Too accessible? :-)

I'll probably do my second install on the laptop anyway. They have
activation, which means they have the ability to assume control, so how bad
could it be?

Ah, man. I don't know *what* to do about that. The Office XP EULAs are
in the Help proper. When you open the task pane to contents, the EULA is
in a purple book all its own.

Unfortunately, the EULA for my version isn't going to help you.

But ... I want to LIVE, Master. LIVE!

PPT LIVE! for example?

Last I heard, EULA was running for governor of California.

Remember you temped the fates when you look up from the rubble.

I've never understood the reasoning behind putting the license in the
program. To access it, you have to have set it up. It would be kinder to
let people know what is up before they spend 6 hours down loading a file.
It should accompany the download as a text, but also should be agreed to
prior to downloading the file. But then again, they are business
millionaires, they might know what they are doing.
