My motherboard has what looks like a piece of Mylar with adhesive on the
back protecting some connections. I assume this it to isolate the area so
it doesn't get touched.

Does anyone know where I could find such material to replace what is
currently on the motherboard. It is brown and appears to be a Mylar like
material with adhesive on one side.

Thanks,
Clark

More likely a shipping wrap... I've never seen a MB with anything like
that other than an anti static bag.

If you have your risers in the right place there is no need for it.

Self-stick laminate sheets. Available at any office supplies store.
Make sure to discharge them of static before applying.

Haven't seen what you're talking about. But then if you had disclosed
what motherboard brand and model you have then someone else with the
same motherboard might've responded.

The last time I saw anything simmilar, was a 386 board with a thin sheet of
plastic glued to the underside.. guessing something to do with anti-static..
from what I could find, mylar is just like an extra strong cling wrap, so I
wouldn't worry too much about replacing the stuff..

It is a Dell 600m. I have one speaker that doesn't work and have tracked it
back to a connection between the external audio jack and the speaker
connection. It just so happens the connection for the audio jack is under
the mylar looking material. I would like to replace it since removing it
will ruin its sticking ability.

I will look at an office supply.

Thanks,

A squirt of 3M spray adhesive (probably available at any
better hardware store) should get it stuck on again.
