where should i post a question regarding Windows Explorer? i am using
Windows XP Home, sp 3. (Having issues with being able to open files with one
user but not another.)

Prob a corrupt user .
 
Jim - i made some sort of minor change that was not too hard to do, but very
hard to remember. i have checked "show hidden files" and unchecked "make
folder private". Same settings on my PC. How would i tell if indeed the one
user were "corrupt"? This is the only issue i have with two computers and
two users each. Thanks for your thoughts.

Log on in Safe Mode as the Administrator and create a new user account.
See if that resolves your problem.
