Where to find Text Format word Wrapping?

Trying to insert gif or jpeg image into doc and freely
maneuver it and place text where I want to. Have searched
for word wrap under Formatting, Options, Configuration and
other most obvious places w/o luck. Don't know Word
terminology, but basically want absolute positioning of
graphic and than insert text *freely* (or vice versa).
Have also searched for way to merge photo and doc, tried
creating frames. I seem to be interpreting the Word logic
and terminology incorrectly. Know how to work w/ features
once I get there, but getting to the right spot is another
matter.(Have Word 2002 w/ Win XP OS)

Right click on the image to set positioning options.

Actually, when you click on a graphic, you should get the Picture toolbar.
There is a Text Wrapping button/menu on that toolbar.
