Where to file covers and liste etc?

When downloading MP3s from the binary groups (a relatively new pastime
for me), I usually also get several associate files, such as JPGs
showing the original CD covers, and various text files (with mixed
extensions) which I keep in case they help me sort out data/tags
later. Where do other users *file* these 'extras' please? In same
folders as the MP3s?
 
Your PC, your choice, recommend you create a separate file for cover
and call the directory "Covers", that way you'll know where to find the
in the future. You can also rename them for easy reference.
