I have some heatsinks, fan and processor to buy... Can anyone recommend
somewhere in the UK? I have looked at www.dabs.co.uk, but I don't like not
being able to ring them should there be a problem.

Has anyone tried www.cpucitystore.co.uk?

[Free returns and full refund would be a bonus - just in case I make a
mistake.]

ebuyer.com have the lowest prices (lower than trade in most cases).

Mistake? Free returns? Full refunds? Like if you blow the chip...?

Yes, I rate Ebuyer very highly. I have bought stacks of stuff from
them.

I need to return something to dabs I'll let you know what happens... they're
quite reputable.

I also use Tekheads and Komplett.

Dabs are very good at returns and Komplett for me are extremely speedy
(esp. for a firm based in Norway and Sweden and Ireland)

Both Dabs and Komplett do seem a little pricy compared with Ebuyer,
but they are reliable.

Novatech (Portsmouth based) are another seller I would recommend.
Occasional bargains can be found.

Try www.tekeabds.co.uk and their sister site www.extremecooling.co.uk the
latter
do a wide range of heatsinks, fans etc Tekheads do motherboards cpu's and
the like
They have a fair RMA policy and DO answer the phone:-)
Cheers,

A side note: I'm involved in web design and hosting and I'm impressed by the
ebuyer creation. Its the fastest database driven web site that I know of.

Hi,

so far I have used:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/

http://www.ebuyer.com/

http://www.simply.co.uk/

http://www.komplett.co.uk/

http://www.thecoolingshop.co.uk/tcs/home.asp

All have provided a good service. .

I agree. They added the ability to add comments to product at the
start of the year and this has influenced my descision to buy a
product on more than 1 occasion.

The ability to view order progress is also pretty slick.

What do you reckon SQL Server?

For example buying a heatsink, and discovering it was the tiniest bit too
big and won't fit along the psu? Dabs do a full refund and courier returns.
However, since they don't have telephone staff I expect someone to reply to
my e-mail within a few hours. It's been two days so far :-(

also www.scan.co.uk

for my needs, i`ve found dabs, scan and komplett the cheapest.
to date, i`ve had the BEST service from dabs - places order on a tuesday
night (7.30pm ish) and goods would of arrived wednesday 12pm (midday) except
no-one was in to sign for them, had to go upto delivery depo for collection.
less than 16hours between signing and reciving goods!

www.overclockers.co.uk and www.over-clock.co.uk are good performance places
too.

2-3 days on average. That's what I've been finding whilst getting a
fairly minor problem sorted.

Not quite the lightning speed with which they deal with their orders,
hmm!!

The best customer service I ever got was from kustompc.co.uk. When I got
a faulty part, they sent a replacement out the same day (having
responded to an e-mail in around 15 minutes) and it arrived the next
day. *And* they told me not to bother sending back the faulty part!

Well my web return thingy to Dabs has resulted in no response in over 24
hours and I wasn't convinced it got sent when I did it.

Earlier on I tried to contact them via the web form for customer services,
the form wouldn't submit - I tried three different browser sessions no
result.

I tried emailing (e-mail address removed) and a different address failed (I think it
was (e-mail address removed)) so they got the email, it probably got
automatically forwarded to an address that doesn't exist.

The phone number on their box note just says to use their website.

I have no way of contacting them except via a written letter, and quite
frankly I'm a bit disappointed.

The product I picked is of apalling design - a Belkin monitor lead with no
attempt at any shielding, as a result I get 6 visible "echoes" to the right
of high contrast vertical edges. Maybe I should have researched a bit
better, but I really didn't expect somebody like Belkin to package and sell
something that is so bad at doing it's one and only function. For those
that are interested, the F2N02x cables are probably all crap, and if you
want a Belkin monitor cable, go with the F3... as they use shielded RGB
wires and twisted pair on the others.

Uh Hu..
Maybee that's cause they arent real, or cause they are going out of buisness
Either way..
A company will never do that unless they are ran by morons..
They cant get a product credit unless they return the faulty product..

OK, I've managed to submit a return request thing through their website.
