where is XP's equivalent to Win98's "Quick Logon"

Windows 98 (my old, slow computer) had a great feature that would allow
remote networked drives to be present, but not actually pinged (I guess)
until you needed to actually access that remote drive. It was a setting
called "Quick Logon" in the Properties window of the Client for Microsoft
Networks service (in Network Properties).

Try as I might, I cannot find the comparable setting in Windows XP Pro.
Anyone found this? Even if I have to go into the Registry to change a
setting, that would be prefereble to the LOOOOONG waits I have whenever
Windows Explorer is trying to find all my connected drives. Aggravating!

Instead of using mapped network drives you can create shortcuts
- Right click on an open area of your desktop, select new then shortcu
- Type the patch to the share \\Compuer\shar
- You can also add these to your favorited menu. Then only drawback is that you cannot add these to My Computer or Explorer
