Where is the send and file option?

Certainly there must be a way to specify where to save my sent email as I
send them individually so that they all don't just end up in one folder,
"Sent Items". Currently to manage sent email I must send the email then go
to the "Sent Items" folder and move that email to the folder it's related to.
Is there an easiser way?
