See a "Start Search" box under "All Programs", to the left of the shutdown
buttons? This is not only a search field, but also a "run" box. Try it.

On most newer keyboards, the is a key with the Windows Emblem on it.
Mine is on the left between the Ctrl and Alt Keys. Press and hold it
down and press the "r" key. It brings up the run dialog box.

I guess I should search in help before asking. Here is the details I
found searching for "run command"
===========================================
Start a program by using the Run command

Using the Run command is a quick way to open programs, files, folders,
and—when you're connected to the Internet—websites. If you're not
using the Start menu in Classic view, the Search box on the Start menu
can also be used in place of the Run command.

Click the Start button , click All Programs, click Accessories, and
then click Run.

In the Open box, type the name of a program, folder, file, or website.

Tip
For quick access to the Run command, drag it from the Start menu to
the Quick Launch toolbar, where you can access it with a single click.

Hi,

As others have stated, you can add it through the start menu properties,
however you don't need it. Hit start and type whatever into the 'start
search' box and it will act the same as the run prompt.

why not typoe the command or tool you are trying to start through run in th
esearch box in the start menu and hit enter. For me this has done the trick
since beta 1.

good luck

I'm guessing his keyboard was made by IBM...IBM still doesn't believe in
having a Windows key, even what, 10 years later?

If you are running RC-1, click the start button; in the start search type in
the program like regedit.exe <enter>
