Where is the original picture located?

When I have inserted a picture into a PowerPoint presentation, sometimes at
a later date I want to find the original picture. Is there any way for
PowerPoint to automatically note or remember where a picture was originally
loaded from?

thanks for any help,

Huck

If you insert the picture, then the answer is No. If you link to the
picture, then the path to the original image will always be there. If you
insert the image, you can always extract it by saving the presentation as an
htm/html (web page).

Thanks Michael

I don't seem to be able to find out how to link to a picture. If I go
to Insert>Picture, it doesn't seem to have an option for link to file.
How would I do that?

How you achieve this depends on your PowerPoint version. In PowerPoint 2003,
click on the insert a menu, picture, from file and select the image. On the
actual insert a button is a little drop down arrow that you can click on.
This contains two items. One is an insert menu item, and the other contains
the text link to file. Click the link to file item.

Thanks. I found the arrow (very obscure). Inserted the picture.
However, once it was inserted I couldn't find the reference to the
link/file address. I thought I woiuld right click the picture and
select properties and see it there, but no.
Sorry to ask so many questions, but where could I find that?

Thanks,

Huck

PPT doesn't want to tell you that, it seems.

We have an add-in that deals with links in different ways.
The free demo will give you a useful report of all the links in your
presentation, including image links.

If the report is all you need, use it in good health. There's no time
limitation or anything.
