Managed as in...?

Using a newsreader and connecting to news.microsoft.com will get you a long
list. You will want the groups starting with:

microsoft.public.windows.vista

Like:

microsoft.public.windows.vista.general

If you use the link in my signature, you will see the 'Communities" rules.
These are enforced when MS feels it's necessary, and posts are blocked from
appearing on the Communities interface. Those posts still appear on
newsreaders that download it from msnews.microsoft.com
This a a volunteer help site, and those MSFT (Microsofties) who participate,
do it on their own time. There are quite a few others who try to help, in
whatever way they perceive as 'helpful'. Admittedly some are too immature to
actually succeed in that. 'Manage' is a word with a lot of meanings. Your
interpretation of it may vary from the owner of whatever server you use.
My main thinking on the problem is one of free speech. You can yell 'Fire!'
in a crowded theater, but someone else is just as free to yell "There IS NO
Fire!", (thought I find wading thru all that childish bickering a bit
boring.)
I use a reader, and some message Rules to eliminate the worst of it.

Thanks for the reply,
Managed as in I pay for a Technet plus subscription that has a guaranteed
1 day response from the managed newsgroups ,

In these managed newsgroups there are no Vista entries. How is this
possible?

Your link has a search feature, and your post here was the top of the list
of results. According to that, THIS is a managed technet newsgroup

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/co...-f50dfb8c7226&dglist=&ptlist=&exp=&sloc=en-US

And so, by extention to that, would be:

Windows Vista Community Discussion Groups:

Correct! And the title of this newsgroup is windowsxp, not windows vista.
The link you gave for Vista is not a MANAGED newsgroup for Technet
subscribers. Can anyone tell me where it is? Or why it doesn't exist?
Maybe its no issue and I can use the Managed XP forums for Vista questions?

I have been posting on this board for as long as it existed (and the beta
before it). No 'management' by MSFT employees has ever been apparent to me,
and the number of not 'responded to in one day' questions grows each day.
This is no less true of the Vista groups. They all infest the 'peer to peer'
msnews.microsoft.com server.
Few using this XP board use Vista, and in general, knows little about it. To
be on topic, you will need the referenced group.

That search feature is only for terms. To make things more confusing,
results include hits from *all* of Microsoft's newsgroups!

The list of TechNet Managed Newsgroups is on the left-hand side, and it
is correct there are currently no managed Vista newsgroups (Why not? Ask
in one of the managed groups. :-) ). But there are plenty of ordinary
Vista newsgroups for the OP. The only thing missing is the 24-hour
commitment, but something tells me you'll nonetheless get a timely
response.

These are enforced when MS feels it's necessary, and posts are blocked
from
appearing on the Communities interface.

Rarely if ever enforced, except they stopped posts over a certain size. I
am not sure what the limit is now but you no longer see messages running
into hundreds of kb in the main stream groups.

They say there are 100 managed newsgroups. You can see which ones are
included by clicking in the left pane to view which products are listed.
Vista isn't included. There are over 2500 microsoft.public.*
newsgroups. So obviously not all of them are managed. Only 17 managed
newsgroups are listed for client operating systems (Windows 2000 & XP
only). There are a LOT of Microsoft products that aren't listed there
as having a managed newsgroup. You can still post in the other
newsgroups but they aren't "managed".

Hi,

How are you?

I am writing to see if you have any update about this post. If you
encounter any break/fix issue, please feel free to let me know.

Have a good day!
