where is the live search of charcters per line in ms 2007 ?

I know there is in the status bar to find under column but it isnt live
(changes only after klicking it with the mouse)
 
There has never been any "live" character count, much less per line, in
Word. The word count on the status bar, however, is dynamic.

If you select a line of text, the word count status bar will display the
number of words in the line followed by a / and the number of words in the
document. If you click on the word count in the status bar, the Word Count
dialog will open with a display of the following information pertaining to
the line that is selected:

Pages (will be 1)
Words (number of words in the selected line)
Characters (no spaces)
Characters (with spaces)
Paragraphs (0 for a multiline paragraph)
Lines (will be 1)
