Where is the definitions file for Defender.

Since the Defender update fails in hundreds of ways with various error
messages,
it would be convinient if Microsoft posted a link to download the file, and
instructions where to place it.
I assume the Definitions is just one file or a directory of files, if it is
designed in a reasonable manner (a big assumption considering the company
