Where is RAM located in a ROCK agenda SI laptop/ notebook?

I've noticed that the 256mb ram in the rock laptop (i have an agenda si
model) is partially used by the video card, so i can't install apps
with a minimum 256mb requirement. i want to upgrade RAM but can't see
where it lives. The large panel underneath houses the CPU and CPU fan,
and the small panel houses an unidentifiable cable. Does anyone know
where the RAM is located, how to access? I'm guessing i'm going to have
to take it to pieces, but any 'watch out for this' guides very much
appreciated!
SO... where is the RAM located on a rock notebook/ laptop....?

Why don't you look in your manual or ask that question on the Rock website?

crucial.com says you're maxed out now. 256MB is all you can have.

I found a link claiming to identify the hardware in the Agenda.
If the chipset is KN133, then it is possible it could support
more RAM than Crucial recommends.

http://bongolia.org/linux/mitac7321.php
http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/chipsets/legacy/kn133/

I would use tools like Everest:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181

and CPUZ:

http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

to gather hardware info about your platform. To verify
if it is using a KN133 chipset or not.

If I look on the Kingston page, for Mitac 7321, I find
a suggestion that 128MB is soldered to the motherboard,
and the SODIMM slot allows an extra 256MB to be installed,
for a total of 384MB.

http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/con...iTAC-MiNote+7321&distributor=0&submit1=Search

So the first part of the process, is thoroughly identifying
what is inside the box now. And who really made the laptop.
If the utilities identify "two sticks" of memory, one chunk of
that memory could be soldered to the motherboard, while the
SODIMM slot could be the other stick. Then, there might be
a way to achieve your goal.

Thanks for the info, i've discovered that it is under the keyboard, the
covers on the back are for CPU and some kind of power unit as
mentioned. I saw the review that said it can take more than 256, so
that's what i'm going to try. I ran the Crucial 'scan' and it actually
see's the laptop as a Mitac, and then can't detect slot configuration
or Ram type.... great help! So it's trial and error for me..... the
user manual and Rock's website are useless. they are more 'how do i
open Word' type answers. the most technical is how to install windows,
and there is no way to contact them about upgrades (they'll do them but
wont advise you how to do them). thanks for the help anyway, the
answer is that it's an 'under the keyboard' Ram location on the Rock
Agenda Si model....

The Ram is under the keyboard, not accessible from any of the 'covers'
underneath the laptop. thanks for all your help, i've now increased
ram by swapping out 128MB and putting in 256mb.
