If it comes with Office, then I'm obviously left out; I have Windows XP
(with SP2) but no office. I have Word 2000 installed separately. I typed
Photo Editor into the Knowledge Base and got nothng.

Can I download this Photo Editor from somewhere? You see, I would love to be
able to reduce the size and weight of images coming my way via digital
cameras. I've been working for years with scanned and downloaded jpg images
that are light as feathers, sometimes 15 or 20 ks, and show up just fine.
Now I'm facing jpegs that are 500 Ks and can't fit them in the screen; nor
do I dare to send them to anyone for fear of clogging their hotmail space.

Any suggestions.

It comes with Office 2003, but I don't know about previous version. You
probably can do this a lot faster with the free software below:
.. To decrease the size of the file for e-mail, web publishing etc.

Go to this site and download the free Image Resizer. Exe file in one of your
folder.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Once in your folder, double click on it to install it.

Once installed, you right click on a photo file (or on a group of selected
photo files).

Click on Resize image on the opening menu.

A window will open, select the size you want.

New files will be added in your folder, same name as original file but with
the word (small) added.

The first time you use it, you may not see Resize image on the opening menu
after you right click on the file or if you see it, it may not work. If so,
do the following:

Click on Run, click on Start and type the following in the textbox:

REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL

and press the Enter key.

Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI.

Also, you can download a free photo editing software from here to resize
pictures and edit photos:

Thanks for the correction. I just checked. What I have is Microsoft Office
Picture Manager which came with Office 2003 (at least I assume it did) but I
have never used it and just tried it and obviously not something to use to
resize photos.

Could you kindly give me some further orientation. I went to this site and
by following guidelines I ended up downloading the folllowing file:

<Creativity_digitalphotos.exe>
All this gave me was a folder in "My Pictures" called "Creativity Fun Packs"
which contained only Greeting Card Templates and Title Slides. Neither of
these have any capability of resizing photos.

Could I have made a download mistake? It didn't seem that I had many
options.
