In windows 2000 I am trying to share my cdrom.
I right click on the drive and select properties
but a web sharing tab comes up, not the normal sharing
tab that I am used to. I go ahead and share it but I dont
get the little hand underneath the drive. How do I get rid
of this thing. I removed personal web server in an attempt to
solve the problem but it did not help.

Thanks

Go into the properties for your network connection (Control Panel -->
Network Connections --> right click the icon for your network connection and
choose Properties.) Make sure that File and Print sharing is installed +
checked. [[Note: if this is your connection to the Internet, I hope you are
behind some kind of firewall such as a router.]]

Then, run SERVICES.MSC from Start Menu--> Run and make sure that the
"Server" service is Started and set to "automatic".

Finally, make sure you are logging in as an administrator. You need
administrator rights to create a share.

I don't think this is related to the personal web server.

and go to Folder Options > View and clear "Use simple file sharing" option
in Advanced Settings if your computer not joined to a domain.
