Where is my posting from yesterday?
I can not get to page 2 of this site.
What is with the message "Newsgroup not available"????
I have asked the same questions twice and have
yet to find out if there is an answer because I can not
get to my question.

I copied and pasted the previous post yesterday. Stop waiting a full day
before checking for an answer.

Is your field bound to a table? Jsut put your "Date()" in the field's,
DEFAULT value.

Or, use code that writes the current date only when you add a record. Put
it in the form's BEFORE INSERT event.

I am using Access 2000
I have a field that enters the date automatically - using
Date(). This date changes every day. But I want a
permanent date - a Date that does not change from the date
of entry. What date code do I use?

I do try to get back to my questions ASAP because I
usually want the answer NOW!. But some days, I just do
not have time or get pushed on to other projects. I never
have had a problem before going back two or three days.
But lately, several of the screens read, "Newsgroup not
available" even on the first page. Any idea why this has
become a problem?

I use this newsgroup a lot. I can usually count on
getting information that is easily understood. You don't
know how much I appreciate this group of knowledgeable
people and their help. Thank you for your help.

Aurora,
Found these posts in other Access Groups...
hello all,
what has happened to our newsgroup. I keep
getting "Newsgroup no available".
I hear that microsoft is building a new one but i don't
know how to get to it. anyone know?
thanks
If you are using the web based newsreader and if you are set up to log on
automatically it will not work. You need to sign in each time you use the
web based newsreader. I have tried sending a comment pointing that out, but
there is no way of knowing if anybody even read it.

There are apparently a lot of problems lately with Microsoft's web
based newsreader.
If you don't have something blocking you (such as a corporate
firewall), try using the News option of Outlook Express (installed
automatically with Internet Explorer). Use msnews.microsoft.com as the
news server in setup; you'll get text access to all Microsoft's
newsgroups without some of the web bells and whistles, but IME it's
more reliable.
