Where is my downloaded file?
There seems to be problem with the Vista build 5384 and Akamai ActiveX
download manager. (Using download manager with XP worked as expected.) The
problem surface after the file has been downloaded and verified. Good so far,
but I had set the destination folder to be “C:\Users\Peca\Download†and
expected to find Vista RC1 image file there, but I was wrong. By using Start
Menu search for lost *.iso file, no luck for that. So I drop down to command
prompt and used the old trusty attrib utility and my day was saved:
C:\attrib /s *.iso
Utility give me result as:
"C:\Users\Peca\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\Virtualized\C\Users\Peca\Documents\vista_5600.16384.060829-2230_x86fre_client-lr1cfre_en_dvd.iso"
Then it was just simple move the ISO image to beter place (I burned the
image with Gear DVD product, whitch seem to be rare product to be compatible
with Vista and easy to use.) It seems that temporay file was only renamed,
but not moved to destination location. Have anyone experienced the same kind
problem? Upgrade session from build 5384 to 5600 worked without any problems
in an hour or so.
