Joe

Hello,

I am trying to convert my home movies to DVD. I have a VCR connected to my
video card (ATI AIW 7500 Pro). I am able to capture the video just fine no
problems there, but there is no audio with the video. I have a SB Live!
soundcard. The VCR is connected via coax. What am I doing wrong? Any help
will be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!!!

ello there,

Connect the audio feed from the VCR to the line in socket on your audio card
and in the software you use to capture the video make sure that the sound
source is set to line in

Try other settings for Audio in the Record dialog box. I don't know what it
will be, but whatever you have selected now isn't the right one.

Hello,

Thank you everyone that responded, I took the advice, and decided to use the
composite adapter, changed the settings in the dialog box to read Auxillary
and Composite and BAM! it worked. Thanks again.

Joe,

How great that it worked for you. I was not so lucky. To anyone else who
could help me out. I've had this 901 Series from Gateway since February 6 of
this year and have yet to use it yet because I can't get anything going. I
have the same problem that it looks like so many other have, no sound when
capturing in WMM. I've tried every option on the audio drop down menu. No
luck. Can anybody give me step - by - step hook up instructions? Right now
I'm connected with composite cables. I have an analogue Panasonic camcorder.
From all I've read on this forum, I really don't think my connections are the
problem. They seem to be pretty straight forward. Any help would be so
greatly appreciated.

Thankyou!
