Punjab The Sailor Man

Microsoft and Acer promised me a free upgrade to Windows VIsta when I
bought my notebook. I have yet to see it. I bought it just before VIsta
was released and a sticker on my notebook says Windows Vista Capable.
Do I have to sue the crap out of them to get my copy? They keep saying
it was sent.

There are still a number of bugs in Vista...

It is highly unlikely *Microsoft* told *you* that you would get a free
upgrade to Vista. It is more likely that those you bought the new computer
from (is that why you mentioned Acer?) told you that they would give you a
coupon for a free upgrade to Windows Vista (insert version here).

Did you 'cash in' whatever coupon Acer gave you? It's not likely to 'just
happen'... You are probably going to have to call those you bought it from
and give them something to get them to send you whatever they (Acer?)
promised you.
 
When I purchased my Acer before Xmas last year it also came with this offer
and an explanation on how to apply for it on the Asus website...with a link
to the "upgrade" website.............where I had to insert the usual
information and confirmation of product purchased.It responded with an email
confirmation number as well as phone numbers to call incase of trouble.
Did you do all this????

I received my upgrade in MAY
