Hmm--very strange-- What was it that tipped you off about MusicMatch? And
when you say "this fixed my problem"--what problem was fixed by uninstalling
MusicMatch?
For the Windows Defender issue, I think at this point the Windows Installer
Cleanup utility is the available tool:

Download via a link in the above KB article--read the article and other info
in the program carefully--this tool can do damage if used carelessly.
Install it, and run it via start, all programs.
Go down the list and remove only the two Windows Defender related items
listed.
That should allow you to reinstall Windows Defender. Once you succeed in
that, I'd recommend uninstalling the utility--especially on a shared machine
where others might use it.
