I can not locate an area that lists how many rams of memory and other info
about the PC. Memory is main concern right now. Thanks.

For memory, hold down the Windows key, and press Pause/Break.

What other info do you you want to find out?

Click on the Start button, right click on My Computer and choose Properties.

Windows will give you very little information about your PC's components. I
see a lot of sick PC's and use an app called Everest by Lavalys. Its a free
tool that can be very useful identifying components & devices their
manufacturers and specifications. Great when trying to identify drivers.

This app will give important info about Ram like: brand, speed, and latency

He just wants to see how much ram the system is reporting.

If you have XP Pro I am unsure if XP home is the same. Go to Start/All
programs/Accessories/System Tools/Computer Info. This will tell you
everything you need to know and some.

There is no difference between Home and Pro with regards to the
Sytstem/General tab.

Thank you for the info... I should have been more clear. I don't know if XP
home has System tools. If you go to Start/All Programs/Accessories/System
Tools/Computer Information this will bring up an entirely different scren
than the Windows/General tab by right clicking on My Computer and going to
Properties. Does home not have System Tools in the Accessories folder?

Sorry I misread my menu. It should be Start/All Programs/Accessories/System
Tools/System Information and not Computer info.

Just type msinfo32 in Start Run. MS has provided these types of programs for decades.

It is exactly the same. Click the Start button and then right click on My
Computer and choose Properties. The System tool opens with the General tab
on top displaying the desired information about the OS, ram, etc.

Or, as in my last post, right click on My Computer and choose Properties.
Same thing but fewer clicks.
