Dear ALL,

I have to change a security policy on windows 2000 server in order to start
a thirdy party application.

This option is "Sharing and security model for local accounts" and should be
(this is XP) in

Local computer policy|computer configuration\windows settings\local
policies\security options ....but I can't find it !!!

Please could anyone give me an help?

Hello Alberto,

Check this "Network access: Sharing and security model for local accounts".
But i assume that windows 2000 will not include this policy. Use a 2003 or
XP machine with GPMC SP1 installed and configure it that way.

Thanks for your reply !!!

Is there another way to grant that kind of access from a domain's local
machine ?

Hello Microsoft,

Check this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\ForceGuest DWORD
and set it to "0" insdtead of 1 if it is on the 2000

If the key does not exist, BACKUP the registry FIRST and the create the key
for testing. So if something fails you can restore the registry.
