I hope somebody can shed some light as to what is going on here.
I seem to be 'losing' files and folders. I have hade a shortcut on my
desktop to an incoming files folder I have for P2P file sharing which keep
disappearing. Files are disappearing from the same folder also.
Another thing, I'm not sure if its linked but I'm currently downloading a
large application which has been stuck at 488mb for days. My P2P client says
its downloading at 80 odd kbs but (it just isnt!). I've checked the temp
folder and the download is on 621mb and this stays constant! Is this a
virus? Any help here would be appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation,
Martin Tee

[snip lame AVG ad]

I think you pretty much answered your own question... you use a P2P file
sharing program and download apps with it. Just what app is 488mb and you
must use P2P to download it and it is not pirated?

Does it really matter? I have aproblem and need advice. I don't need some
lamer giving it the third degree. I aint a 'noob' neither am I new to all
this net business, so make it sound like you know what your're talking about
cos I know a lot more than you ever will. Feel free to scan. I'm an expert
at reversal.

What you obviously don't know is how to get help from a newsgroup. Your
statement that "I know a lot more than you ever will," and "I'm an
expert at ..." flags you as totally sophomoric and not one worthy of
expending any effort in trying to come up with a solution to your
problem. (I will agree that the post to which you were responding was
_almost_ equally as sophomoric, however.)

Best way to find out if it is a virus is to 1) do a full scan with your AVG, 2)
do a scan with a good Trojan cleaner.

You don't even state what P2P application it is, what version of Windows you
have, or anything and yet you claim you are not a noob.

Go waste someone else's time... NOOB!
