Where have my Favorites gone?

Some of my Favorites disapear and I must click on a
double arrow pointing down to see them all, which I find
annoying. How can I always see the full Favorites menu?
 
Tools/Internet Options - Advanced tab
Under "Browsing", uncheck "Use Personalized Favorites Menu"
