Where does Outlook/Outlook Express store messages

My OS has crashed and I need to retreve my email messages. The drive can be
read on another machine but where are the inbox etc, folders stored?

The e-mail messages are stored in a *.pst file and assuming you use XP the
would be located at:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR ACCOUNT NAME\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst

The is the standard folder anyway. Just do a search for a file called
"outlook.pst" on the drive.

Sometimes, the .pst file is renamed to something other
than outlook.pst in Outlook setup. I would do a search
for the .PST file that has the right date and the right
size.
Also, Outlook Express files use the .DBX extension for
each folder in your OE setup. Again, I'd do a search for
those files in Windows Explorer - Aidan
