where does data go after deletion

well every one know that data in a computer can be deleted like right
click on the file etc...,and click delete or else select a file and
press shift+delete

But what happens to that data that is deleted i mean where does that
data goes what happens to that data.

now a days after deleting a data or file etc it can be gained how can
that is done ?

please give reply to me.........
 
In layman's terms: The sectors of the hard disk that contain the data that
makes up the deleted files is marked as available space in the operating
system and drive. The files are still there on the disk but are now
invisible to the OS. Usually the file names have their first letter changed
to an underscore. That's why you can use data recovery software to retrieve
deleted files. Unless the sectors have been re-written over by new files,
the data is still intact.
 
corrupted data go to hell.
good data go to heaven

burn a candle every time you delete a file, it will lead all data to heaven

Back when TechTV was worth watching, they had an investigator on with a
small briefcase. Inside the briefcase was a computer and a bunch of cables
with different connectors.

He showed how he could connect to different devices of a computer and
download data. In one example, he opened a password protected MS Word
document by making certain selection on the menu, after making the
selections, the computer examined the document, said it was building a
password dictionary, then used a password to open it.

In another example, he recovered deleted files on a storage device. The
file contents are still on the device, but when deleted, the space is marked
as free.

Data always goes in the mailbox.
When the mailbox flag is up, data is in to read.
Mailbox flag down, data is out, and nothing interesting.
