Seen many people lately infected with a new
spyware "svcnut.exe" and "shdocpl.dll", hijacked wallpaper
and home page changed to some '401 mvp warning'

Where can I submit the files ???

Please submit a suspected spyware report from the infected machine
using Tools from the Menu

One other route towards finding out whether a given file is on the radar
screens of the various vendors is to submit it to:

http://www.virustotal.com
http://virusscan.jotti.org

See the browse windows in the upper right of these pages for submission.

This will give you a quick reading about whether the top antivirus vendors,
a few of which are also starting to handle spyware--recognize your critter.

If you are lucky, it'll give you a good enough name to be able to find a
good source of information for manual removal--or perhaps an online scan or
system cleaner capable of doing the job.

Microsoft does not have a public address for submission of binaries.
However, some of the MVP's who frequent these groups do have ways of getting
binaries to the right hands--so if you've got something you are reasonably
certain is "dirty", but seems to be too new to be on anyone's list, speaking
up here is probably the right thing to do.

On the machine that was infected MS Antispyware wasn't
detecting it... but I was able to copy the files before
manualy disinfecting the system.

That "suspected spyware report" doesn't do too much...
There should be a tool to report suspicious files.
Thanks anyway!

that's the tool

it would depend on how you submit the report

useful info that could be included are;

basic info on OS, hardware (if related)

processes running in the background

how did you obtain the spyware
(software or website)

and the developers will take it from there

sorry but they won't send you a message acknowledging receipt of your report
but will try and improve the next version of MSAS
