Hi, I know NETBEUI is lame but I need to have it loaded
onto an XP machine and installed as a choice of network
protocol

does anyone know where in the world I might find such a
download from MS??

I need the download because NETBEUI is not presently
loaded anywhere within XP waiting to be installed... this
I know.

Thanks in advance

NETBEUI is included on the XP install disk, but you have to look for it.
It's in directory \VALUEADD\MSFT\NET\NETBEUI.

NetBEUI is on the XP CD iff you have a "real" CD -- either a Retail
or OEM XP CD. NetBEUI is not included on many of the Recovery XP CDs.

If you have a "real" XP CD, make sure you follow the installation
directions (in a .TXT file in the same folder as the rest of the
NetBEUI files) exactly, else, you will have the protocol installed
but not working.

A little more information on this - the instructions in the Netbeui.txt file
ask you to copy netnbf.inf to the windows inf directory. This directory is
hidden by default. You'll need to change the folder options (under menu
Tools, Folder Options..., tab View) to view hidden files and folders to see
it.
