Where are the Video settings stored on 2000

I am trying to find out how W2K handles video, such as resolution.

What I have is a program that is trying to change the resolution of the
screen and it is actually not changing the resolution, but the visible
part of the screen. For example, at the moment I have about 1/16 of an
inch all around the visible part of the screen. After I run the
program, it shrinks to about 1 inch all around the screen, which makes
everything very small. I have to use the Viewsonics buttons to widen
the Horizontal/Vertical size and position of the screen to put it back.

If I don't change the screen manually and reboot the program as well as
turn the screen on and off, it will come up exactly as it was when I
turned of the screen. I assume that some screen information must be
stored in the registry.

I thought that it might have something to do with the screen or video
card itself, except that I am running a KVM switch with 7 computers and
each screen is different and once I had set each machine, the screen
always works with each machine. Therefore, I expect the information is
stored on each machine (I may be wrong, however).

Any help would be appreciated as I need to solve this question for my
program.

Thanks,

Tom.

Right your mouse on the desktop and left click on
properties then click the settings tab.

I understand how to get to the resolution settings, but not the screen
settings that are done my using the controls on the monitor itself,
which controls the horizontal and vertical screen size. This must be
stored somewhere and sent to the screen when the W2K starts up at some
point. If this is the case, they must be stored somewhere (I assume the
registry).

Thanks,

Tom.
