HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs
You can delete a certain "typed" URL _but_ you need to rename the sequence
of URL's afterward.

Edit your Registry with *extreme* caution - this you don't want to mess
with!

Jason,

To expand upon that which siljaline stated, you must rename any subsequent
series of numbers that remain in the list sequentially; otherwise the URL's
after the particular one you've deleted will not be recognized and become
"invisible".

E.G.- 1, 2, 3, you then delete # 4 for example. Now you must rename URL #5
to be # 4, and so forth. Each entry must be moved up to occupy an unbroken
series of numbers.

There is a MSKB article on this, but it's whereabouts escape me for the
moment.

Exercise extreme caution when working in the registry. It would be wise to
back-up the Registry before messing around in it.

Thanks this did the trick! I suspected that the index.dat
file was the culprit and autocomplete was involved. The
registry path siljaline had listed did not have the url's
listed. If you remove the folder and reboot it will create
a new index.dat and you can then trash the origianl in the
recycle bin. I hate using locked down public computers
that have autocomplete enabled and not being able to
remove what I have typed.
Thanks a bunch!

Jason,

The Registry path to Typed URL's under Win Me O/S is correct.
Glad to hear you have you problem fixed.
