Where are the messages going?

In the last 10 hours at least 10000 messages have gone from this newsgroup.
Most of the messages have been from the older end, but quite a few have been
very recent postings, i.e. the last 24 hours.
Anyone know if this is supposed to be happening?

You might try using the web based news group access until this event is over...
