I can't seen to find out where the different folders for my different
accounts are? I made two new accounts for me and my wife. And now both of
our mail ends up in the same inbox. I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Please help me.

They are not separated like the Identities feature OE had..

You will have to use a different Windows Logon account to have them
separated or WMID from http://www.oehelp.com which will make WinMail act
like it has the Identities feature.

Alternatively, Windows Live Mail desktop will separate every account. Still
in beta and still buggy though. http://ideas.live.com.

Unless you use Message Rules, all incoming mail will
go into the common Inbox. Go to Tools, Message Rules,
Mail, New, and create 2 rules similar to this:

1. Where the message is from the His account
move it to the Inbox_His folder
and stop processing more rules.

2. Where the message is from the Her account
move it to the Inbox_Her folder
and stop processing more rules.

I got so excited when I saw thispost! I have has Vista for four days --
going NOUTS!

I did all this for five accounts. I established four sub folders tot he
inbox and set up the rules as you stated. NOW -- I do not get anything in
the original INBOX, and the other four messages all show up in the filnal
folder on the list. What am I doing wrong?

BTW - I also established the folders as sub-folders to the LOCAL directory
-- same problem.

Can you provide additional guidance here? Thank you!

Did you include 'Stop processing more rules' with each rule?

yup -- sure did -- can NOT make heads or tails of this!

Desperate! I was so happy with NS 7.2 mail and newsgroup and want Windows
Mail to work just like it! Arg-g-g-h-h-h-h-h!

Any more ideas?

Could you copy your Message Rules, and post them here?
If the rules contain an email address, the copy you post here
should have the email address obscured somewhat for privacy.

Are you automatically scanning incoming email for viruses?

Thank you for your persistance with this!

my INBOX is my default we will call

(e-mail address removed)

the other four accounts and the rules I established for them are as follows
(I cut n pasted, then renamed key ids)

Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the To or CC line contains '(e-mail address removed)'
Move it to the DDDDDDD folder
and Stop processing more rules

Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the To line contains '(e-mail address removed)'
Move it to the YYYYYYY folder
and Stop processing more rules

Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the To or CC line contains '(e-mail address removed)'
Move it to the ZZZZZZZZ folder
and Stop processing more rules

Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the To or CC line contains '(e-mail address removed)'
Move it to the RRRRRRR folder
and Stop processing more rules

What have I missed here??

If you have five accounts, then why aren't your rules based on the account,
not the email address?

Where the message is from specified account

As Ron Sommer has already indicated, your rules should be based
on the receiving account rather than on To or CC.
The latter will not catch emails that are BCC-addressed.

So your first rule should be something like:

Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the message is from the 'ddddddd account
Move it to the DDDDDDD folder
and Stop processing more rules

That was it! Thank you for straightening out my goofs! Your time with this
is MUCH MUCH appreciated!

Thank you both!
