Where are emails / contacts stored if no recent .pst?

I lost my main hard drive but I can see the files on it when I make it the
slave drive.

I have now re-installed Office on a new main drive and I am trying to get
all of my Outlook messages.

I do not have a recent backup .PST (yeah yeah I know...dumb)

Is there some folder on my old drive that I can copy the appropriate files
over to my new drive and thereby retreive all of my message folders &
contacts?

thanks

The default location of your pst file is: C:\Documents and Settings\[Your
username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

If your old drive is operational (and if it is, why did you have to replace
it?), then the old PST would probably be in
X:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook
where "X" is the current drive letter and "username" is your Windows
username when the old drive was the system disk.

Thanks guys...will try that when I get home tonight.

Brian, I dunno.....I tried everything to repair / re-install Win XP on my
original drive. All I got was a blinking cursor...it was not recognized as a
drive by my OEM XP home recovery CD.

Then I really don't understand how you can be using it as a secondary drive.
Does your BIOS expect Master/Slave jumpers or Cable Select?

As you told you can see the data when you make it slave drive. Just copy the
..pst file from there and make it as new default .pst file in new drive
