Hi,

I need to know where Windows XP stores it's Dial-Up connections. I already tried to find it with Tracker. A program that make's a snapshot of a system and after you make changes it make's a second snapshot and then compares the two and comes with all the diferent settings, files and registry settings. But still i didn't find the dial up settings anywhere.

I need it to copy the Dial-Up connections from one Windows XP machine to an other Windows XP machine.

Thanks in advance.

Control Panel | Network Connections | Dial-up

Unless you are using something like AOL that
uses its own dial-up software and may not appear
there. In such a case, you would need to use AOL's
own interface.

Are you saying you need to find out the settings
for your current connection so that you can create
a connection on your other XP computer? If so
then you could gather that information by going to
Control Panel | Network Connections | Dial-up
and find the icon for your current connection and
go to the properties of it. If it is AOL or some other
proprietary program you would need to use their
interface.

On your other XP computer you would need to
create the dial-up connection by going through
the New Connection Wizard:

1. Click on START and then CONTROL PANEL
2. If in Category View, click on "Network and Internet Connections"
then under "Pick a Control Panel Icon" click on "Network Connections"

If in Classic View, double click on "Network Connections"

3. On the left, under "Network Tasks" click on "Create a New Connection"
4. "New Connection Wizard" appears - click on NEXT
5. With "Connect To The Internet" selected - click on NEXT
6. With "Set Up My Connection Manually" selected - click on NEXT
7. With "Connect Using A Dial-Up Modem" selected - click on NEXT
8. Enter the name for the ISP - click on NEXT
9. Enter the correct access phone number - click on NEXT
10.Enter Username and Password information (leave all default settings) - click on NEXT
11.Click on Finish

The new connection should be set up now and should be your Default
dial-up connection in Control Panel | Internet Options | Connections tab |
Dial-up and Virtual Private Network Settings window. With the appropriate
radio button selected below that window, your dial-up connection box should
appear when you open Internet Explorer.

If you are using some program like AOL, then its connection would need to
be created by going through their own installation software.

The connections are here ..., but I'm not sure you can transfer them between
machines
