Where access email from web? free?

Are there still websites that you can go to, and key in login/password and
read emails. Not like the ISP-specific web-access site that every ISP
provides for its customers, but a general webmail access site that can go to
any ISP. Seems there used to be one called www.webmail.com. Are there any
no-charge ones? Would appreciate a few suggestions, thanks
 
Try www.mail.com ... if you're looking for web based
email.

Thanks, Conrad, I checked this, but it seems to only handle its own
customers' email addresses, as opposed to being able to access any ISP's
email servers.

EXCELLENT list! And looks like they all allow accessing POP3 accounts other
than (or in addition to) their own. Is there a chance you know which one(s)
of the accounts are both free and easiest to use...to access email on my own
server, while traveling and using someone elses PC?
