when you guys have a solution for _ALL_ of those scenarios is when I
stop

VB 2005 doesn't support code reuse or portability

I want to know what I am supposed to do.. am I really still supposed
to cart around _TWO_ ide so that I can write VB6 scripts and test
them; and then rewrite them into VbScript?

and then I can take my VbScript code and paste it into Vb 2005 and
REWRITE IT _AGAIN_

WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?

I agree Susie, it is time to make a stand.

I urge Microsoft to undo these past 5 years and start taking VB
seriously again.

for starters, name the next version 'B #' as in BEE SHARP.
and bring back VB COM

The solution is for you to get over what you can't change and move on,
Aaron. I feel quite sorry for you.

Robin S.

I don't need to move on.

My VB6 still works in 4 times as many places as your stupid visual
fred

and I don't need to 'program' in order to be entirely successful.

I'll keep with my database stuff and move all my clients to mySql /
PHP

Robin

I feel bad for you, you're the dipshit that is following the other
lambs into the slaughter

MICROSOFT KILLED VB ONCE DO YOU HONESTLY TRUST THEM TO NOT INVENT
VISUAL FRED AGAIN?

-Susie

what I need to do is go and be a computer science professor so that I
can warn these kids to not trust Microsoft, they killed a language.
I'm not talking about _DAMAGING_ a language-- I am talking about
killing a language.

UNNECESSARY CHANGE IS NOT SEXY
UNNECESSARY CHANGE IS NOT _NECESSARY_

I don't agree with that. Anyway, wait a couple of years, and you'll be
*really* screwed, when it doesn't run on whatever comes after Vista.
and I don't need to 'program' in order to be entirely successful.

The same could be said of Warren Buffett. But he's good at *something*.
I'll keep with my database stuff and move all my clients to mySql /
PHP

Good luck with that.

I don't care if they do. I'll adapt and continue being successful at making
my customers happy.

yeah but when you need to give them a $50,000 quote to make their apps
work in .NET?

it's just not practical

Susie / Aaron / Tom

thank you for standing up for what is right.

I think that you should be Sr Management at Microsoft

I know I'm not scared of a couple of 4-letter words and some capital
letters

Robin

sorry, bitch, VB 2002, VB 2003 and VB 2005 DO NOT WORK ON VISTA, SO
POO ON YOU

'oh but wait the version _AFTER_ vista'

what in 2020?

-Susie

you do not agree with me?

let me count

SQL Server 2000
SQL Server 2005
Access
Excel
Project
Word
Visio
Outlook
Windows Script Host
ASP
DHTML

and let me count how many places that VB 2005 works

uh
desktops _WITH_ the right version of the framework (in other words,
about 3% of desktops worldwide) that do not run Vista? (BECAUSE
NOTHING DOTNET RUNS ON VISTA, RIGHT??)

ROFL

looks to me like it is a _DOTLOT_ less than 1/4, huh?

You're agreeing with your other 3 aliases. How cute. And don't say that
it's not true, because the headers betray you.

See I can say stuff 5 times too.

maybe we all use AOL and we have a dialup account

eat a dick and stay on-topic, fag

if I wanted your opinion; I'd send a couple of panzers over

I DISAGREE FAG

DOES NOT RUN ON VISTA

2002,2003 DOES NOT RUN ON VISTA

GLAD TO SEE THAT THEY PULLED A VISUAL FRED AGAIN

ROFL

and please buddy; please tell me what percentage of DESKTOPS have the
framework on them?

thanks

That is of no importance. It's on the CD they get when they buy the
program. Just as they need to install stuff for VB6 when they buy one
of our programs written in VB6. That's also not just 1 executable. The
only difference is, is that the .NET framework is a few MB's larger.

You can disagree all you want. It's a fact that our program works just
fine on our Vista Enterprise computer.

Right, and you all just happen to get the exact same IP address every
time you dialup. Give it up. Oh and panzers.. that's a different country.
