When XP hangs ?

When XP freezes up.....how do you restart XP? In Win98 when a program
froze I could hit ctrl - alt - delete & Win98 would restart. How would I do
this in XP.I am having a problem with a game hanging after I start it up.

The same things happen to my PC.
My XP Home crashes very frequently and I have to restart by switching off
everytime.
Has anyone has solution?

if you press Ctl-Alt-Del do you not get the task manager up?
 
No, I didn't get the task mgr. up. Maybe that was my fault because I really
didn't give it a lot of time to come up. Next time I will give it a little
more time. If ctrl-alt-delete works in XP .....this should take care of my
problem. Since it was taking a while, I thought possibly ctrl-alt-delete
didn't work in XP. Thanks for the help. I appreciated it. I learn a lot
from lurking in this newsgroup. Thanks everyone for helping all of us out.
