Well, just from the posts in this newsgroups, the people who have "upgraded" their XP installations
to Vista, have had the most problems, BSODs, freezes, etc. Several who subsequently did a clean
install solved their problems.
I did a clean install on a separate partition, and except for one unknown ACPI device, I have not
had a single, crash, BSOD, or freeze. Individual programs that I installed and had problems with, I
was able to immediately uninstall them.
And a clean install allows you to remove all the junk that has accumulated.
All my data is stored in one place and takes minutes to backup.

| There is no "upgrade penalty" when upgrading to Windows Vista. It does not
| upgrade as prior Windows versions did, so there is no reason to tell folks
| not to upgrade.
