Where can I go to see what's loading when I 1st start up
my system? There must be some things that are loading up
every time I start and I don't really need them too. And
if so, can I set it up so I can start them only when I
need them. Sorry to be so computer illiterate.

Startup programs load from any of the registry locations as explained in the URL.

Type MSCONFIG in the RUN box and click Startup tab. It displays what applications run at startup. "Autoruns" is a better tool which you see in the URL posted earlier.
