This is not known Outlook behavior, so there must be something going on
with
the DL or the message itself. Have you examined the DL itself to make
sure
it does not contain duplicate entries? Have you made sure the DL isn't
getting entered twice in the Outlook Address Book interface? How do the
recipients appear in Sent Items?

It is Outlook 2003
The DL was created by selecting recipiants from the contact and adding
them
to the DL, The mail transport is POP3/SMTP
The DL was selected by using the To button and selecting it from my
contacts
list.
In the email type it gives the DL as MAPIPDL.
Thanks

There is no information here. There is nothing we could tell you
without
knowing Outlook version, mail transport type, how the DL was created
and
how
the DL was selected as a recipient.

When I send to a distribution list all the recipiants get 2 emails,
have
checked the list and there is only one of each address.
If anyone can help it would be apreciated.
Thanks
