When running macro's in Excel, very slow

When I am running a rendering macro in excel, my spoolsv.exe and csrss.exe
services run my CPU to about 95%, leaving excel only 5% to run the macro. If
I run the same macro on my laptop it takes 7 seconds ( services normal ) when
I run it on my desk top ( 2 x the CPU and ram ) it takes 7 minutes to run, if
I kill the spoolsv.exe service, it takes 5 seconds.

both PC, Office 2003 XP pro SP2

Roy, are you running the same version of Excel? Which version? Excel 2007
is very slow on some macros.

Are you using the same anti-virus program? Try disabling it and other
running software on your desktop and see if one of them is the cause.

Hi Bob, both PC are running Excel 2003, both are XP sp2 Pro, both have the
same antivirus.
