Does Microsoft make any schedule for RC1?

No, its not known, but internal builds are on the RC1 branch (I suspect).
BETA 2 is RC0, I guess you will know it when they announce RC1 since it will
likely be a public build you can download and test when the time comes.

Well, I suspect Tech Testers, MSDN Subscribers and the general Public will
get RC1 the same time. Looking at past deliveries for Technet Plus
Subscribers, it will likely be a while before they get it on DVD Media in
their media kits.

Well thats a lousy source, Jim Allchin (one of the Windows Captains at
Microsoft), said, there will be an RC1 release. The only thing to wonder is
if there will be an RC2 release.

Allchin: We think about all these CTPs as beta 2. It's a different way of
thinking about it. The last of these is the last beta 2 and we won't do RC0.
We'll move from there right to RC1.

What's the remaining schedule for Vista? Is it Beta 2, then Release
Candidate 1 and then straight to manufacturing?
Allchin: We will do something in between there. If you go back into XP,
you'll see that we did pretty much--we did an RC 1, we did an RC 2 and we
did an RTM. Right now our thinking is to do about the same thing. How broad
we make that next one after RC 1, even if we call it RC 2, that hasn't been
made, but we will do a drop about a month after we do RC 1 to some set of
people. The problem here is that we have to have immediate turnaround,
because we're on superdeadline then.
