When new items arrive in my inbox - sound will not play

I click the box under 'when new items arrive in my inbox' play a sound & it
works for that session but if I close outlook or restart my pc it unchecks
the box every time.

Any suggestions ?

I'd try a new mail profile.

I'd try a new mail profile.

I think I found a work around....I created a rule that any message that had
my name in the 'to' field would cause a notification & that seems to be
working.
