For those that don't know about it
bring up properties for a drive
change to the Hardware tab
select a drive and press properties button
change to the volumes tab
press the populate button

on 64bit vista the window closes
on 32bit the tab goes back to the fist one

either way, no data is populated

Just tried it. Its seems to be a permissions thing.
When you click on populate, nothing seems to happen, but if you go to task
manager, you see there is a dialog box waiting for you to click OK on it,
but its not visible on your screen.

If you select it in task manager, you get the darkened screen and the box
becomes visible. Hit OK and you are taken back to the drive properties.
Click on populate again, and it will work.

I guess you have to be in "real" administrator mode to work it with out the
steps I mentioned above.

The hidden message box is indeed a bug. Should be brought forward
automatically.

The first attempt on my system actually failed, although I noticed the
permission thing and granted permission.
However, on the second try it worked without any problems

all attached drives here populate okay.

on 64bit vista the window closes, so you if you go back, uac pops up again,
and the window closes again
