When is .net framework 2 released?

Hi,

Does anyone know the release date for .net framework version 2? I am
about to write an OR mapper but if ObjectSpaces is about to be released
in the 2nd framework I will hold off.

Hi Mark,

You are actually looking for 1.2 framework which will be realeased sometime
next year along Yukon.
..NET 2.0 is to be release with Longhorn scheduled for 2006 if I remember...

Thre will be no v1.2 released. The version will change to v2.0.

Whidbey will target 2.0. It is currently called 1.2, but the numbering will
reflect a 2.0 release before release (beta 1?).

The release comes with Whidbey, which should be late 2004. You will be able
to get a beta some time in the spring of 2004, however, if you want to get
started on projects with a time schedule of late 2004/early 2005. If you
have an MSDN subscription, you can get started with the Whidbey alpha to
experiment; you have to call customer service to request the
Longhorn/Whidbey PDC DVD set.
